Follow Up Deliveries still being made...

Jason Wong, Diana Lo, and Sun Kim have been busily heading up the official T-Basket Follow Up Team. There were several baskets that needed to be delivered in the past few days. Thanks a lot to Jason's hard work and many AWESOME volunteer drivers, we have gotten them almost all done! Praise the Lord!

Please continue to pray for the Follow Up Team as they still have a LOT of work ahead of them. They will be sending out letters to all the sponsors as well as figuring out finances with Rebekah's help.

Thank you... as always for your support!

HAVE A HAPPY BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

DELIVERY DAY - A HUGE SUCCESS!

The Lord was so faithful to the Delivery Day teams and everything that took place yesterday! Thank you , LORD! Francis Chen, Wendy Keng, Laurie Lin, and Denise ran a tight ship. Francis, the driving director, even stayed up most of the night getting ready for this big day! And thanks to them, all the drivers and navigators were well organized. THANK YOU to all the delivery folks who gave up their Saturday to help deliver all over the greater Boston area!

CCFC was the headquarters. Everything started around 9am. Francis and Wendy had set up two laptops at the sign up table while drivers from ALL different churches and organizations arrived. We munched on donuts and got to meet one another. After an introduction of everyone and explanation of the vision, Marisa Chiang led us in an awesome time of prayer. The Spirit was really present in that place as we asked the Lord to bless every part of delivery day and to bless the families we would be reaching. Francis then broke down the logistics of delivery.

It was a chilly but gorgeous sunny day for delivering. There were over 20 cars sent out with over 40 drivers and navigators! The Lord's ambassadors going out into the streets of the greater Boston area to bless His people! It was so exciting. There were people from partnering churches, familes with children, and groups from universities that came out to serve on a Saturday. Each driving team had about 6 families to deliver Thanksgiving Baskets to. And they had a very well detailed map of their route with directions. Every team did an AMAZING JOB!

Teams started to return to CCFC headquarters around 11 so we could eat lunch and then do the second shift. After a fun time fellowshipping over delicious subs, we started the second crew with the old and new drivers. As teams returned, it was wonderful to hear story after story of how the deliveries were such a blessing.

New face to "Christians"
One team was invited inside the house by a woman from Puerto Rico. She was so happy and thankful. The team and the woman got to talking about churches and how she was very unhappy with the church in her neighborhood because she felt judged. She felt like people looked at her clothes and such and did not make her comfortable. But what a blessing that this team could bless this woman with a friendly face to what Christians can be like!

Connecting to Church
One team was made up of three woman from three different churches. They visited a family where they were happily invited inside. The son, about age 25, was there and he showed interest in going to church. The T-basket team was able to encourage him to check out churches! Praise the Lord! He said he was interested in going to church but didn't know how to get there. The team is going to follow-up with him and tell him directions to the church!

God's faithfulness to drivers
One two person team returned laughing about their trip! They shared about how they got completely lost while driving to deliver. But then they stopped and prayed. Right after that, God gave them clarity of mind and showed them that they were going in the wrong direction.

All of the deliveries for the day were done around 5pm. It was a loooong day for Francis and his team who finally closed headquarters around 6pm.

At the end of the day, about 200 families were given a Thanksgiving Basket! We will be delivering more on Monday. That is the MOST we have ever reached with this project. How awesome to be a part of God's work and be a blessing.

And now.... the fun begins for the Follow-Up Team : Sun Kim, Jason Wong, and Diana Lo. Please keep them in prayers... they have a BIG job in front of them!

AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE DRIVERS AND NAVIGATORS FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND SACRIFICE. WE PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL BLESS YOU AND CONTINUE TO USE YOU FOR HIS GLORY!

Packaging Night was truly God blessed and directed! Thank you to ALL who came out to help! We have never before had SO many churches, people, and baskets! There was over 30 poeple there to help from many different churches. And we finished in record time!

People arrived at around 6pm and we passed out name tags. We quickly got to work and organized the tables into a long line so we could get ready for the assembly line.  Then we moved ALL the hundreds of cans and boxes and bags of food. The beautiful bags with leaf designs were the perfect size! Other folks went into the lounge room to write into the Thanksgiving Cards.

We praised God and prayed before we started the assembly line. It was AMAZING!!! It was like a well oiled machine! Everyone helped out and we kept passing the T-baskets down the line. In all the years we have done this project, we have never been so organized! We also were able to make extra baskets because we had extra food. Praise God!

It was such a blessing to see how the Lord can bring so many of His people together to bless the community. It was especially meaningful to meet others from different churches. We finished around 8:30pm and then we fellowshipped together over pizza and brownies.

Thank you, Lord for all your blessings!

Here are some updates! So exciting! It's just a few days away!

THE BAGS
Stephanie Moy, Packaging Coordinator, is hard at work! Thank you, Steph! She has ordered all the bags and is still going out to buy more bags. The majority of the cost of the bags has been covered by a very generous couple at CCFC. Praise the Lord! Stephanie was busy last night trying out different decorations. She has designed beautiful fall designs for the bags using iron transfer paper. The Tufts IV fellowship is partnering with Thanksgiving Baskets efforts by ironing all those bags on Thursday. More than 210 bags! Currently, we are deciding on what extra gift to put inside the TB's. In the past it has been things like sparkling cider and specially labelled kitchen containers. This year we are thinking along the lines of a dish towel or oven mitt.

THE KIDS
Students at Baldwin School in Cambridge have a club organized by Petra. It's called "Helping the World Club"... cute , right? :) Well, today they collected all the boxes and boxes of food they have been collecting from the school community for Thanksgiving Baskets. They have been learning about social justice and what it means to help those in need. They had a fun time sorting all the food so that there is a big box full of mashed potatoes, a box of cranberry sauce, a box of stuffing mix... etc. What a great opportunity for these kids to really get a hands-on learning experience in making a difference for those in need. All the stuff was loaded into Ms. Kim's car.... boy was that car stuffed!

THE FAMILIES
The Thanksgiving Baskets Team is hard at work calling all the families on our list of about 200 families! We are calling them to confirm that they will be home on Saturday for either the morning or afternoon shifts. It has been a great blessing to call these families and to pray for them. We are still receiving more calls and random requests from families in need. Please continue to lift each family up in prayer.

THE PARTNERS
It has truly been an amazing blessing to see so many churches come together for this effort. Never before has Thanksgiving Baskets Outreach had so much support and partnership!
Here is an incomplete list of partners: (we're still getting more partners!!!)
Highrock, Cornerstone, CBCGB (Lexington Church), Vineyard, Oasis,
Hope Fellowship, Cambridgeport Baptist, NCPC (New Covenant Presbyterian
Church), CityLife, Grace Street Church

THE MONEY
Each year, God shows His wonderful faithfulness as we trust in Him. Praise God for the amazing provision of funds. Each year, we raise more and more money... reaching more and MORE families!!! Folks are STILL mailing in checks and signing up online to support more. Rebekah, the CEO and Database master, has been hard at work coordinating all the countless lists of volunteers, finances, and everything else. Thank you, Rebekah! And thank you EVERYONE for all your prayer and financial support.

For all the sponsors: If you have not yet sent in your check. Please send it in ASAP. We would appreciate it. Thanks.

Blessings to all... and to all.... a good night.
